I've just solved the problem
I've updated one of the drivers by a program from the website of HP and suddenly the green lights lighted up.

Hi, I know this is not the forum where should I discuss this topic, but still want to try it

I got my hp Envy from my friend and the thing is he has removed the recovery partition and installed pirated windows in it and he has not recovery disk as well, so is it possible I can get recovery disk or if the windows is pirated, can it be registered or activate as this laptop did have original windows in it,

While our software is included in the Limited Edition HP Envy 17, we unfortunately not equipped to provide support for non-Leap Motion related HP issues. If you have any questions that relate specifically to our hardware or software, don't hesitate to follow up.

Hi guys! Yesterday I bought an Envy 17 -j150la with Leap motion. Today The software did an upgrade and after this , the leap motion is not function (not turn on, not turn on lights and sensors, dont open the airspace, dont function the control panel, dont function the FN+Spacebar.

I download again the drivers for my leap motion version, but turn on only 2 minutes and again fail. Can you help me @katem or @AlexColgan please?? Thanks

In version 2.2.6 and 2.2.7 of our software, we had a bug that affected some of the original model HP Envy laptops. If any such laptop had never been turned on in two years since its production in the factory, it would fail to update to the required firmware for version 1.2 or V2 of the Leap Motion software.

Here is a patched version of release 2.2.7 that should fix your problem. Please let us know if it works for you.

I am having the same problem as everyone else here and all the links on here don't work anymore. I tried reinstalling the software and everything. I've had this laptop for over a year so its out of warranty from HP. I get a problem when i try to reinstall though. it says the file "LeapSvc64.exe" cant be opened

i seemed to get the controller to be able to turn on but it doesnt do any when i try to put my hand over it, i tried everything and it doesnt even work with the apps that came with it like the playground app

Please try right clicking on the Leap Motion Control Panel and see if you're able to resume tracking.

There's still the problem, I have tryed almost everything, it's asking me to disconect and reconect the sensor, but, as I think you are suposed to know it's embed in the laptop, so, I tried to disconect it from the control panel or disable it, but it did not work, also it doesn't work on W10, It turns on when I try to recalibrate but it doesn't work in other apps or anything else.

It sounds like the service may not be running. Try opening services.msc and restarting "leap service" from there.

You can download and install the Leap Motion software from www.leapmotion.com/setup

Once installed, you should be able to toggle the sensors on your HP Envy by pressing Fn+Space or right clicking on the Leap Motion Control Panel icon and select "resume tracking".

Hi, I have a same problem here. I tried to turn on my LEap motion on my HP Envy 17 but it's not turning on with the SpaceBAr + Fn. Is there any way to fix this?
