Never-Used Kickstarter Leap Motion Not Working in Apps

Hi, I have a used-once and boxed Kickstarter Leap Motion. It doesn't work in apps and I can't force update the firmware using the firmware update tool.

When I try to use the Leap Motion in apps, I get an error message that it's not connected to the internet OR there's a message (along with an icon) that the Leap Motion is not connected to my computer. However, the Leap Motion software reports that it's working and connected to the computer. I'm not sure what to do with it.

Any way to get this working again? Thanks for your help!

You'll need to go through gallery.leapmotion.com where you'll be able to find a number of previously paid apps that are now free for everyone. Note that many apps require a particular version of the core software; this is indicated at the top of their descriptions.

"Kick-starter Leap Motion Not Working:" - and i really enjoy being one of the first kick-starters, and still do :]

It worked several years ago when the kick-starters LeapMotion was released, but back then I was on a Macintosh.

And how i a little confused about the order of operation when installing (just formatted my Lenovo,fresh try).
Last month when I tried it had the same problem as Smayonakis seem to encounter. No aps working, but it showed up in Calibration.

Well before I try to Install this time around, perhaps you can confirm or direct me in the right direction, about the order of install / win10-fix:

1. plug-in LeapMotion with original cable in a usb 2.0 port.
2. Install LeapMotion software V 2.0
3. Apply Hot-fix (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update)...
   -- Any other steps I should be aware of with the Kick-Starter version of the Leap?

Hi Jacob, to set up the Leap Motion Controller with the V2 SDK on Windows 10 Follow this process:

1. Install the V2 SDK for Windows from here (clicking ignore on the graphics driver error message)
2. Apply the hotfix by following the instructions on here.
3. Connect the Leap Motion controller.

The app store was retired in 2017 so the apps available in app home will no longer work. See here for the retirement FAQs.

The majority of these apps are now available via the Leap Motion Gallery, download the ones that you want to use from here but please remember to check the SDK version they require (you can filter the V2 compatible apps via the search options).
