We are using 5 custom build computers with the latest hardware and 4
seperate vive hmds with a leap motion directly plugged into the hmds. I had
this problem on all of them.
Since the trackers themselves go wonky when in the active area of the leap
motion ir light but not the controllers, maybe its something for htc
engineers to investigate.
From what i understand they work exactly like the controllers, just with
seperate rf dongles. They can also be coupled through the hmd, when no
cotrollers are coupled. So the hmd has 2 of those rf dongle chips built in
for controllers. Even in this config the problem persists. Maybe the
sensors in the trackers are of a different kind from the ones in the
controllers.
What i havent tried is plugging the leap directly to the pc instead of the
hmd, because i didnt think it would matter, since the leap itself is
working fine.
Cheers
