Of course and let me tell you one of the reasons: two developers trying to setup your environment, both independently have issues locating the software. That's because you don't know to link them properly in the documentation and nor to explain what each software does NOT do. Keep up guys!

I will note that the different software versions and what they do is outlined on the documentation homepage: https://developer.leapmotion.com/documentation/

That being said, we have a lot of work to do in the documentation department, particularly in how we organize and structure the legacy APIs. A lot of people land in the docs via Google searches, rather than navigating through the developer portal.

The irony is that I had to use Google Search to find the page where I could download LeapJava.jar because your documentation was taking be back to the same page with no clear link to what I needed. Now that I know that you know how "a lot of people land in the docs via Google searches" I can ask you what did you do for them?

We've applied a few band-aid solutions ahead of a larger refactor of the developer portal and documentation that is planned over the long term. Part of this is complicated by the fact that Java and other mid-level language APIs are deprecated and no longer formally supported, which invalidates a lot of the older docs; you'll notice they have developer-archive as their subdomain for this reason. At the same time, though, we're actively looking into whether restoring support for languages like Java should be re-prioritized.
