Visualizer non vr

Just wondering if you can launch the visualizer in nonvr mode. The vr mode is neat but I used it in virtual desktop as my pass-through camera in my oculus dk2. Since the new oculus home doesn't allow appswitching I was wondering if there were a way to toggle between the modes?

Unfortunately this is not possible. The visualizer is programmed to go into “VR mode” if it detects the HMD. So the only way to “switch” would be to turn off the HMD before running the app.

I would like to cast my vote for making VR mode /optional/ if an HMD is detected. Just because I have a Rift connected doesn't necessarily mean that I want to run the Leap Visualizer in VR mode. I'm a developer and consultant, and sometimes I just want to demonstrate the Leap Motion in desktop mode -- either because that's how the client intends to use it, or because I want to have a face-to-face discussion without an HMD on my head. As it is, I have to crawl down under my desk to unplug the HMD to force the Leap Visualizer into desktop mode. Not convenient. How hard can it be to add an on-screen button or a key-press to the interface to switch modes?
