Vdrift and gamewave

I am experimenting with using the LMC and Gamewave to control the steering wheel in a racing game.
So far, vdrift is the only free game demo that I have found for OSX where mouse control can be configured for steering (why on earth do other cooler games not accept mouse as an input any more? arrow-key steering just sucks...)
Anyway, here is the result:

Do you know of any other racing game for OSX that accepts mouse control for steering?

P.S. The video is .... horrible, I know! XD You can only see my hands most of the time! Sorry about that!

Hey nicknack,

Looks like it'll take some getting used to. It seems to work pretty well though. I would recommend remapping your gestures to keyboard keys instead of the mouse keys. The end result should be similar if not the same. This would allow you to use the LMC to control games which don't support mouse input.

The point is that by emulating keyboard input you get a very rough control of the vehicle. Not comparable to the fine, progressive control that you get with mouse or mouse emulation via LMC and GW (in this case).
'Arrow key driving' is disappointing with a keyboard, totally unpractical with the leap, which by contrast is just great for a progressive input. What we miss is a trick (driver... plugin...) to have the leap being seen as a USB steering wheel... hope someone is working on that!

Ah, good point.

I'm not too sure what other racing games support mouse controls. I'll keep an eye out online and see if I can find any.

The best would be to somehow simulate Joystick input with Leap motion. That would rock!

mouse steering used to be pretty common a few years ago. Now, probably, gamers and producers prefer more specific USB devices, but I find that pretty limiting...
@bPatrik0521: Analog joystick emulation is one of the ways LMC could really make the difference (because it would be a very precise, fully 3D joystick with an unequaled number of degrees of freedom)
Edit: not to mention the fact that the LMC can get input from two hands, hence two joysticks. That's enough to control the docking of the Soyuz to the ISS!!

Looking forward to joystick emulation, I made a gaw file for Gamewave to use the LMC as a joystick in Unreal Tournament. You can see it in action here, and find the gaw file here on Gawshare.com
