Using Leapmotion with the new Gear VR using the additional USB port

The new Gear VR seems to have an additional USB port with full USB OTG capability.
So in theory it should now be possible to connect the Leap Motion controller directly to the Gear VR.
Could somebody from Leap Motion confirm that this is possible?
I also hope that Orion Android SDK will include Unity development.

Yes it works, it has USB-C port and an internal hub.

Hi! I just recive new model of gear vr (blues), I put in Samsung Galaxy S7 and I use the conversor USB-C to microUSB for conect glasses to my computer or my leap motion(using an aditional conversor), and it doesn't work, the computer not detect the glasses and the leap motion neither.
Is usb data port only work with Note s7?

@jrdiff I think the main issue there is that you would need the Orion SDK for Android (and/or an app that can use the Leap Motion from Android).

In the mean time I find my Leap Motion works great with VRidge, but then I'm tethered to the computer (would love to directly plug the Leap into my LG G4 and stream that through the gigabit 5GHz wifi to VRidge instead!)

that isn't it, I have Orion sdk for android, and some applications that working with android.
Someone has got that Samsung Galaxy S7 work with Leap Motion using usb port of the new VR Gear?

Nice @timigod! Until we see the release of our Android SDK, these sorts of PC-based mobile prototyping solutions are the way to go.

Hi everyone

Sorry bit ;ate to the party. I currently render leap motion with my gear vr via my PC. I'm just trying to get some of the leap motion gallery games going like blocks but can't seem to view it through the gear VR. It workd fine on the PC and vridge opens up ok and so does steam VR. Any help on how to get it rendered through the gear vr?
THe leap motion visualiser works fine.

Hi All !
We just got our leap motion and can't wait to start integrating in our android apps, we also have a S7 and Gear Vr (we bought it for a art install made in rome some months ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2q7PMniFXA ). The point of that install is actually to be able to move freely in space both in real life and Vr, without cables. We already have localization via wifi pretty and multiuser, now i just need to get the leap to work with our S7 with usb.

How or when can i get the leap-android sdk ?
