Unity Dev w/out Occulus. Which download?

If I wanted to explore development using LEAP + Unity without using VR, what download should I hunt out? Thanks!

Hi Aaron, I am in a similar situation. I downloaded the older desktop version and Orion. The tracking in Orion is superior. Also, since the preferred usage right now is from an HMD, I attached the controller to a baseball cap. This lets me experiment with the controls from an approximated first-person perspective rather than the desktop.

For Unity, also be sure to get the assets provided in the downloads section and check out the introductory documentation. It is pretty helpful in getting a project started quickly.

Wow, it's almost been a year since I was experimenting with LEAP and a hat-based HMD rig. I'm out of touch with the specific versions of the development kit available now.

However, what I recall is that the "old" version was intended for placing the device on a tabletop, whereas the Orion version was intended for an HMD. I found the tracking to be much better in Orion. Therefore, since I didn't have a VR system available, I attached it to a hat to simulate the HMD placement.

LEAP also provided specific files for Unity projects, which should help you get started quickly.
