Unable to launch Leap

I am using Elementary OS (Linux) and I installed the software successfully, i had these results when launching sudo leapd

[Info] Tracking initialized
[Critical] Secure WebSocket server failed to start
[Critical] WebSocket server failed to start
[Critical] Have you tried running as root/Administrator?
[Info] Leap Motion Controller detected: S323A005083
[Info] Firmware is up to date.

I tried ending the service first? (sudo service leapd stop) then tring ps -A | grep leapd to check if there are multiple copies of leapd running. then i got these result

sudo leapd
[Info] WebSocket server started
[Info] Secure WebSocket server started
[Info] Leap Motion Controller detected: S323A005083
[Info] Firmware is up to date.

and nothing happens afterwards . . waiting for you reply and thanks in advance

Looks like leapd is working after you avoided the duplicate process.

After that, what happens when you run Visualizer or LeapControlPanel?

I encountered the same problem today and have solved it by

sudo service leapd stop

having same problem, also got it to work using philthinker's service stop, then i can open LeapControlPanel with error message leapd deamon not running. If I start the setvice then try LeapControlPanel nothing opens and im just sitting on a blinking cursor.

while LeapControlPanel wont start while the deamon is running the Visualizer will and works fine (thats prettty much all I need) so Ill just have to stop the deamon if i need the control panel. also my env is debian x64 with systemd
