Hello.
Firstly congrats, you're doing a good job with your software.
Still, we encounter some issues that I'd like to ask about.
We recently bought your Leap Motion Controller and we're testing it on a kiosk which we intend to use it for.
The first issue is that when I installed the module, it was a pain to set it up. It didn't recognise the hands, the movement tracking was very irregular and not working at all really. (I used the destop mode, with the modul placed under the screen, about 10cm down and 5 cm away from the kiosk)
Then I read some more and fiddled with it until I realized and moved it further down to about 20 cm below the screen, when it started to behave a bit better, but not good enough for a professional end-user usability.
So the question is, what is the best accuracy of the finger tracking that the device can offer. Is there a way to see that in practice? Maybe a video of a test you do on an optimal setup of the device.
Another issue is that when you close the Touchfree app, it doesn't close, just remains in the taskbar and when you start it again it doesn't start and doesn't tell you anything either. You need to right click on the taskbar icon and choose close, then reopen it. That is a minor issue, but worthwhile mentioning, maybe it's only on the PC we tested it on, not on all.
THirdly, in the Visualizer the hands position is swapped, so the left hand is recognized as right and viceversa. I read that you can click the "Reverse orienteaion" which I did, but that didn't change anything. Besides, when you click that button there's no indication (flag/text/alert) that the orientation was reversed or not.
Maybe we are doing something wrong or need to set it up some more.
Anyway, I hope we ca make it work a bit smoother, because we'd like to use it for our products, as the basic functionality is there, but still not at the level required for a robust end-user product.
Thank you for your support.
Regadrs,
Andy
