Edit: I plead for some changes in Touchless app.
So it behaves like an air touch surface at a configurable plane (pitch, yaw, distance from origin).
I'd write that myself, but Touchless is closed source, and I don't know how they render visual feedback and emulate touch.

This. Just a switch (virtual air-touch, like it's now / constant z-depth at which the screen is touched) and a z-depth slider.
