Please can you help me with this?
I am using Leap Orion with Unity and Oculus Rift. I am using Leap in a top-down orientation but not attached to the OR.I developed it this way for a reason so have already made certain design decisions (e.g. Leap facing an anti-reflective base to avoid infrared light interference with the table, in Unity the hand controller is separate to the OVR camera rig in appropriate position etc.).
When using a HMD rig obviously you tick "Is head mounted" in Unity to optimise for this. This is normally taken for granted because of using VR rather than destop configuration.
After searching I can't find a clear answer on whether I should or should not tick to be head mounted (when it is facing downwards and in VR but not following HMD movements). Can you please let me know ASAP:
1) In my configuration should it be ticked or not?
2) Does it optimise for being in a top-down position or the fact that will be moving with the HMD?
3) Should ticking "is head mounted" optimise for accuracy or latency, or both?
To clarify, hands are working in my setup but I am specifically exploring improving latency and accuracy so need to understand what the option in Unity is actually doing.
Many thanks,
Andrew
