Second Leap Motion device not lighting up

Happy New Leap Year! Just kidding, the next leap year is in 2020...

Got a second Leap Motion device for my game laptop. My first one works fine on my desktop and my laptop, both Windows 10 after updating the exe files for the Windows Fall 2017 update on both. The second one works on none.

Tried all USB ports on my desktop 4 2.0) and laptop (2 3.0 and 3 2.0) with the old and the new cables. Also, my old one works on my laptop with one of the new cables.

Any suggestions? If not, would like an exchange, thank you.

Does the LED on the side of the device light up when you plug it in? If it's a new device, it's possible that there was an issue with the firmware update process. No, the 3 red LED on the top, nor the green LED on the side light up. A question, before I run the firmware reset tool - would it stop my first device from running? Have a demo next week.

Wanted to mention, too, that I have software version 3.1.3+41910, updated automatically.

The firmware tool won't do anything on the device that is currently working as it's already on the latest firmware. It should hopefully fix the second (new) controller as it should have attempted a firmware update the first time you plugged it in. If something goes wrong during this process, the controller will become unresponsive until the firmware is reset

Both devices up and running on both laptop and desktop! So, somehow the second device did not update when I first plugged it in yesterday... Thank you for your help and hope it helps someone else, too.
