We've changed direction on our project and moving away from Hurdles and working on a Rock Climbing experience. Not to say we will not create Hurdles in the future, but we believe this experience will be more fun and a unique experience.
Level Design and Style:
To start we will be creating an indoor rock climbing gym to test out different difficulties and have an easy way to design new sequences. Here is an early wall style concept.
Obviously the wall will need to be much larger in scale, but the overall forms are what we are thinking of using as a more interesting indoor climb. That said, we will probably go with a very flat tiling wall for the route setting phase.

Basic Mechanics:
Gripping, grip timers, replenishing chalk, grip timer debuffs (depleted chalk effects), level completion timer, "lives" (# of slips allowed before falling), and we have other features we are tinkering with.
Post Jam Additions:
Beyond this more customizable indoor climbing wall, we plan to create outdoor experiences as well. Though the outdoor experiences will not be created for this Jam. There are a lot of potential features for the outdoors that can be introduced. For example, the introduction of ice picks like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 touched upon... Call of Duty: Ice Climbing
We're excited. What do you think?
