Reusing hand IDs after losing tracking

Hi all,
I am using the Orion Beta and had a question regarding the id assigned to a hand.

Say the leap motion has currently tracked a hand with ID i1. Then it loses track of this hand, and some other hand comes in (don't know if it is the same one or not). Can this new hand be assigned the ID i1 as currently no one is using this ID?

Or will every new hand be assigned a previously unused ID?

I would like the latter to be the case, as I am currently tracking hands over a large area.

It will always assign a new id.

I think the ids are reset if the service restarts.

I won't be restarting the service so that's not n issue.
