OptiTrack + LeapMotion = IR interference

Hi there!

I'm working on a VR project where I want to use Leap Motion together with OptiTrack motion tracking cameras. I just noticed that the IR light emitted from the OptiTrack cameras interferes with the Leap Motion tracking.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

That's a tough one since both use the same IR wavelength and since I presume the Leap is mounted on a VR headset and mobile, you can't really shield the one device from the other.

I wonder how "The Void" does it since they also use OptiTrack for motion tracking and Leap Motion for hand tracking...

Just to confirm, did you allow the device to go into robust mode? (You can check the settings in the Leap Motion Control Panel.)

Yes. This is in robust mode.

It seems that the Void overcomes this problem by mounting the OptiTrack sensors up high, above where people would normally look.

Did you solve the OptiTrack interferes with the Leap Motion Tracking? Any recommended height of the OptiTrack system when put Leap motion on the headset?
