Mounting Leap Motion on Laptop

Hello,

I'd like to ask a small question:

I would like to 3D-print a holder or more a "placer" for the leap motion for my laptop, so it is always at the same place when using it.

My main question is:
Would you reccommend placing it at the front of the laptop or at the end, where the screen is?

I thought about putting it at the end, but then I saw the picture of the area it is covering and now I am not sure anymore.

(I was thinking about putting it in front of it, but I think, that the height of the laptop would interfer with the area the leap motion is looking at. And also the placer would be clumsier....)

I've been using the Leap Motion controller since July 2013. My initial uses from then until late 2014 were at a desktop computer. Since March 2015 I've used the Leap with a laptop.

To answer your main question:
I have been using a Leap Motion controller with both USB cable lengths at my laptop, used at the front of the laptop, slightly in front of the trackpad. Again, based on my experience and the recommendation of Leap Motion, ergonomics is more important than perfect placement.

My laptop experience: I use the Leap controller on two separate surface levels. When at my office, the Leap is on the same desk level as the laptop. When at home, the laptop is on a docking station, elevated 4 inches above the desk (I don't use a separate monitor), and the leap motion sits about 10 inches in front of the docking station where the laptop rests. I have had no issues since using it this way.
