Linux support situation

I would like to know how the current situation of Linux support is. In the App Store there is no Linux category. Is there anything I can do with Leap Motion on Linux currently? Are there plans for further supporting it and how is the state?

We offer baseline Linux support; also if you’re interested, here’s a link to the Interactive with X11 library. If you have any specific requests, please email developers@leapmotion.com

Here’s the link to the Linux SDK, but if you are using Ubuntu, here’s a link to a hotfix to get you up-to-speed.

Thanks for the links. I saw you offer an Linux installer here: https://www.leapmotion.com/setup just waiting for my Leap Motion to arrive now.

Unfortunately a few features like the App Store are missing on Linux. Are there plans to bring it to Linux to offer an equal user experience on this platform?

We have no plans to a this time, but stay up to date on all our news in the blog for updates.

Why? Is Linux not worth it or to hard to fully support?

It's simply just not a top priority at the moment for us, as we have our resources working on other things.

The Orion software currently only supports the Windows platform.
