Starting on October 19th, Leap Motion and IndieCade are launching a six-week global competition for devs to build innovative experiences for desktop and VR. Here are the key places you need to know about:

"Select 3D Jam Entrants must be able to participate in the 3D Jam
touchpoint sessions; Select Entrants will be notified by the Producer in
advance of those times."

what exactly does that mean?

That refers specifically to the teams chosen at IndieCade, who have already been notified of their selection and participation by IndieCade. Everyone else is part of the Open track, so they don't need to fulfil that requirement

Signed up, will be interesting to try out some of my Rift and Gear VR prototypes with alterations for the Leap Motion.

Also, noticed on the signup page that 'PC, Mac, Linux' was missing from your 'platforms developed for' question .

@MartinCaine - definitely check out our Leap Motion/ Oculus specific Unity asset on our VR page (scroll down to the bottom).

Re the sign-up form - we were curious to see what other platforms people had been developing for and assumed OSX, PC and Linux were pretty high on the list. We've now added it into the form now per a few requests

Can a team (or individual) submit more than 1 entry?

Multiple submissions are definitely allowed, but make sure you have enough time; six weeks will be gone in a flash It's also important that your submission feels like an original experience. Borrowing code from another project is totally fine, but each submission should be meaningfully different—it shouldn't feel like a clone.

Signed, I love game jams! This is a great motivator to dig deeper into Leap development.
Will there be a theme revealed at 19th or are the time and leap as primary controller only "restrictions"?

No theme, as we're trying to be as unrestricted as possible. Must use a Leap controller, be your own original work, be submitted on Dec 1st to our jam page on itch.io, and that's about it! The official rules spell out the details, but that's basically the summary.

Hey! I've signed up and requested a leap, when should I expect a response or shipping information for it? Any extra time to get used to the api would be awesome.

Hey I'm intending to create an application using in part software that a few other guys in the company I'm working at has developed.
I'm wondering if I can just register myself or if I should register together with them as a team even though I'll be doing the work on this particular application.

@DominicDeveloper We'll be sending out emails very soon with redemption codes. Once you get the email, you can order the hardware with the code, so you're only responsible for the shipping cost.

@radix88 Is the code being made available to developers outside your company, or is it strictly proprietary?

The DLL I've used is intended to be released but is not yet available outside the company.
If it's an issue I think they can sign up with me.

You can enter on your own, but you'd need to submit it along with your entire team's name, or with their permission to be granted creative license.

Naturally, we'll also need access to the DLL with the submission so that we can judge the app as a whole. Ultimately, since we want to publish these experiences, our hope would be that the DLL is available for that purpose

I received an email welcoming me to the jam. I originally opted to pick up my hardware at the Toronto hardware hub, but none of the hubs' addresses are listed online. Where do I find these details?

I'm planning to adapt my current game to use leap motion. It's already a motion control game, so trying to think of ways that leap motion can add to the experience, rather than just replicating what I'm already doing with wiimotes.

I live in London, so said on the registration form I'd collect a leap motion from the hub there. I assume a "hub" is one of leap motion's offices or the office of a partner organisation? Is it simply a case of rocking up and asking for a device when I get there?

Hi all, I'm not a developer, but I create music and sound for video games. I'm based in CA but I work remotely a lot of the time. If anyone needs audio for their jam creations, I'd be happy to help out. Good luck to everyone, can't wait to see some of the projects that come out of this!
