Leap API not working

Hello. I have downloaded the LeapSDK (or the Leap API). I have gone into ~/Downloads/LeapDeveloperKit_2.3.1+31549_linux/LeapSDK/samples/. I have found the MakeFile and sample.cpp but how do I use MakeFile to compile it? I have tried
g++ -o MakeFile sample.cpp -I
~/Downloads/LeapDeveloperKit_2.3.1+31549_linx/LeapSDK/include/ but it just throws this at me:

As noted in this thread, the makefile in the SDK samples folder assumes that the include files and libraries are in particular folders relative to the working directory. Have you adjusted the paths to reflect where the files are relative to where you are running make from?

Not yet. I have to re-install the SDK because it "ate" the MakeFile after compilation

There is a typo, as you're missing the u in linux
