Hello to the community and support,
I'm a fan of leap and that's why I just bought 2 new devices.
I precise that I'm a software developer so I think that I'm fluent with all technical stuffs.
For now I have 4 leap : 2 old which are working perfectly, and 2 new which I'm not able to make working.
On the 2 new versions, when I connect I just have the following message:
[Info] Tracking resumed with client application connected
[Info] Leap Motion Controller detected: LP85895674583
[Critical] [EC_BAD_CALIB] You must recalibrate your device (Settings -> Troubleshooting)
[Critical] Unhandled exception: Failed to load calibration.
[Critical] Scorch exception: Failed to load calibration.
[Info] Firmware version: 0.9.0
[Info] Leap Motion Controller firmware version 0.9.0 is out of date.
[Info] Initiating firmware upgrade to version 1.7.0.
[Warning] Do not unplug your Leap Motion Controller.
[Info] If upgrade fails, please visit http://support.leapmotion.com to troubleshoot.
After that Nothing...
So I've tried to use the firmware update, but it stays:

Please select "Pause Tracking" in the Leap
Motion Tray Icon.

Press Enter to continue.
____________________________________________________
Please plug in your Leap Motion Controller.
[18:56:11] [Info] ResourceHost running
That's all, also blocked at this line.
The device led is red, and the leapControler stay glued on "firmware update"
It is exactly the same issue on:
- WIN 10, with 2.3.1, Orion 3 and latest Orion 4, on any USB port
- OSX El Capitan, High Sierra with 2.3.1 leap software on any USB port
I've tried all tips I could find on the forum about this very common issue without success.
So I have no soluce for now.
It seems that the firmware is 0.9 and to old to be updated ?
Is there any Firmware_update that could really work ?
Do you have any other tip I could try?
Help will be really appreciated .
Thanks
