How to use LeapMotion from top to bottom?

I'm designing an application in Java and I need to use LeapMotion from top to bottom.
I noticed that in this position is not as accurate as in classic desktop or VR mode.

It is not very accurate in picking up the hand.

We've optimized our tracking algorithms for two orientations -- desktop and VR. Other orientations may work but will not be as accurate. One thing you can do is reduce the infrared reflectivity of other things in the environment.
