Heat and tracking inconsistencies - Unity

Hello,
Last night while developing a Leap Motion app for several hours, I noticed that tracking and gesture recognition were very inaccurate. But, this morning, I went back to developing the app and tracking was pretty accurate. This leads me to question whether a hot sensor can impact performance that much? and what is the best optimal temperature for the sensor to be accurate?
Also, is this a common or uncommon problem? what contributes to the sensor to heat up? GPU power? environmental temperature?

I recommend reading this Reddit thread on heat posted by Alex a few years ago, there is a lot of good information here on why the Leap Motion Controller gets warm!

This post still holds true today, the device does get warm but this should not affect the tracking performance in any way. Are you able to reproduce the issue? If you have any footage of the tracking issue that you were seeing could you send it to support@ultraleap.com along with details of the hardware that it is running on and I will have a closer look at this for you?
