Hello all,
I’ve recently been dabbling with using Leap Motion for VR, but we have bright white desks in my office, which are quite bright in the visualizer and doubtlessly impair tracking quality.
I did some research on what materials would appear black/dark to the leap motion sensor and kept finding references to Duvetyne/Commando Cloth/Molleton. Great I thought, I’ll just cover my desk in a blanket of the stuff and, strange looks in the office aside, problem solved right? Alass it was not to be, my Duvetyne arrived this morning and, like every other fabric I’ve tried, is light-grey/white in the visualizer.
So far the only things I’ve found that do appear dark in the visualizer have been black plastic keyboards and the soles of shoes. Sadly I fear my boss might object to me lining my desk with keyboards or shoes, so I thought I’d ask the question. What materials/methods have you fine folks been using to improve tracking?
Sadly I really can’t paint desks here in the office, but if anyone knows of a brand of rubber sheet etc that works that would be perfect.
