Driver for Embedded ARM platforms like Raspberry Pi

Hi, you have previously talked about support for ARM based platforms but if I understood it correctly no support for the Raspberry Pi platform. You probably have your reasons, however I'd like to ask you to reconsider support for embedded platform like Raspberry Pi, I guess it's mostly a matter about cross compiling the source for a different platform. If you do there will probably be applications to the LeapMotion controller that doesn't include a regular computer but headless small units controlled by motion.

We'd like to do this, but the Raspberry Pi isn't fast enough to run a standard build of our software. The Leap Motion Controller doesn't have a processor on-board so without this software it cannot perform hand tracking.

We're working on lower level optimizations for ARM but because the PI uses a old ARM architecture most of them do not apply.

Sadly, It doesn't look like there's a good path to supporting Raspberry Pi.

Not nearly as inexpensive as the Pi, though.

Could the HummingBoard be an option?

It has more kick than the pi but more importantly it's supposedly built on ARM v7.

Now that there is Pi V2 using a Quad Core 800MHz Cortex A7 processor ARMv7 (which is over-clockable) is '6x faster for most applciations', and comes with 1gb RAM, is the possibility of Leap Motion drivers a reality?

Right now we don't support anything under ARM9, sorry.

This is the only place I've seen any comments from Leap about this so I'm going to ask a question here rather than a new post - with the planned arm support, will you be supporting android-only, or also linux? And you've said v9 - but any more specifics on what sort of minimum specs are needed?

I'm currently choosing a board for a multimedia project and would like to choose something that leapmotion will be compatible with at some point.

Any details would be greatly appreciated!

Probably not. To quote one of our lead Android engineers: "[Some] vendors are coming out with 8-core Cortex-A53 designs, which doesn't help much since the Cortex-A53 isn't much more performant than a Cortex-A9."

I've an Terasic DE1-SoC Board with the latest dual-core Cortex-A9 processor. There're two questions:
1.) Has the processor enough processing power for the leapMotion?
2.) Where can I find the leapMotion Driver for the A9? Or better is there any SDK that I can use for this plattform?
How can i implement the leapMotion on the embedded system?

I'm also a Jetson TX1 user. It's extremely powerful (rivals some desktops). Support would make using the Leap in my project feasible. Even a very basic Linux ARM driver with minimal features would be wonderful (perhaps just port the pre-Orion SDK!).

Hello people,

sorry to open this up again, but I was working on a mouse-driver for the leap for the last two days on my mac, just to now find out that the target system, a raspberry pi 4 cannot run it.

I know, it's still ARMv8, but I guess it's powerful enough?

Is there at least something beta-ish you can give us devs to play around with it?
