I have a question about robust mode and in what cases it ideally should be used. I've recently used the Leap Motion in a bright environment with a lot of direct sunlight and glass panels around.
Tracking wasn't very good, which of course could be explained by the lighting conditions. However, in my experience, bad tracking can also come from USB bandwidth issues. In that specific environment, the Leap Motion Control Panel also reported bad framerate and at one point the Controller even disconnected completely (showing only the black icon in the task bar). Changing USB ports also didn't help.
When activating Robust Mode, these problems went away and everything mostly worked.
Has anyone experienced similar issues before?
What does robst mode do exactly? Is it possible, that there are performance/bandwidth improvements when it is active, or is it more likely, that those problems coincidentally disappered at the same time?
