Can't get adhesive wrapper off track mount

I have the official mounting kit from Leap Motion, but having problems with the mounting bracket. This isn't a high technology question:

I have to peel off a waxy brown piece of paper to get to the adhesive, but the paper is sticking to the adhesive and pulling up the foam. There's no way to get it off without destroying the foam and removing the adhesive.

What do I do?

OK. Finally got it off, but it was very squirrely.

Sorry to hear that you were having issues with the adhesive strip on the mount. A small number of our mounts have had some issues with the adhesive where it sticks to the plastic. Happy to hear that you were able to get it off successfully

I am having the very same problem -- looks as if the paper backing was put on backwards where the waxy part was facing outward vice toward the adhesive -- Ripping off the foam making this a very frustrating process- trying razor-blades to be able to get this to work -- shows very poor quality control. Any possibility of getting a new mount since the foam on this one is useless

Some users have had success using a knife or box cutter to peel away the paper cover from the adhesive. I'd recommend giving that a try. If the foam begins to tear from one side, try peeling from the other or from the middle to see if that helps.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I was unable to remove the adhesive. I ultimately purchased another mount and it worked fine!

Same Problen here. Solution is to cut the brown paper in the centre with a sharp knife then peel away the paper from the cut.

really frustrated about this, mount completely useless now and it wasn't cheap, how do I get a replacement sent through?

I am also having an issue with removing the cardboard cover from the adhesive. I have two tracks and I removed the cardboard cover from one of them and the adhesive was ripped clean off and is unusable. I followed the instructions per video on the HTC Vive Setup page, and it did not have the same results. Is there any way I can request two replacement tracks since neither seem to function properly?
