I have a leapmotion I've not used in several years and I'd like to get it working again.
I have a fresh install of Windows 10 version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
I have installed Leap_Motion_Orion_Setup_win_3.2.1
The LeapMotion is plugged into a USB2 port.
Services shows the Leap Service as "running".
Without the device plugged in, I start the Leap Motion Control Panel. It's tray icon is black.
When I plug in the device and the LED on it is green.
When I show the software log, it says simply
[11:19:56] [Info] Connected to Leap Service
If I then click "recalibrate device" starts calibration. The red LEDs inside the device light up.
I can never get the calibration above about 75% before it times out for "taking too long". I'm calibrating against my screen in the dark. There are no bright light sources around.
The control panel reports Device Status DISCONNECTED at all times.
I've tried LM_FirmwareReset_Win.exe and it asks me to plug in my controller and reports "[Info] ResourceHost running" and nothing else. It does this whether I plug in my controller or not.
I have also tried the V2 software on a Mac, and it would just get stuck in a firmware update loop, so I installed Windows on another machine just to get this to work. On the Mac I think the Software Log reported that I had firmware 0.7.0.
Do these things even work at all? Clearly some part of it works because I can start the calibration, but its like the shipped software isn't even functional.
