Can the Leap Motion be attached to a screen in front of the user?

Hello everyone. Before I purchase, I am interested in whether attaching the leap motion to a monitor is possible.

I have a large movable monitor, and my plan is to attach the Leap Motion to the bottom of it (facing towards me), almost like the reverse of attaching it to a VR headset. This would mean that my hands come towards the leap to point at something, rather than moving away from it. Does the software support this natively, or would it require some extra configuration/code if it's possible at all?

Unfortunately the Leap Motion software is optimized for either up-facing or head-mounted orientations. The hand tracking will not work properly if the controller is mounted vertically and aimed at the user.
