Greetings,
I run a lab that seeks to understand how the brain controls the hands. Our goal is to use this knowledge to improve rehabilitation of patients who have suffered loss of functions as a result of brain or bodily injuries.
We presently lack, and desperately need, a way to gather even basic kinematic data from our patients' hands as they undergo rehabilitation. Our existing systems are not portable and require that the patients come to us, often over great distances and with considerable inconvenience. These factors limit our ability to refine their care and to provide more regular feedback.
I am very interested in working with any developers who might be motivated to address this important issue. It could also provide a foundation for developing more effective and motivating rehabilitation-oriented games.
If this interests you, let's talk.
