Basic Advice on Using the Leap as a Desktop Controller

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with some very simple issues involving my Leap! This is a lovely device but I have yet to get any use out of it.

What I'm looking for is an idiot’s guide starting from scratch on how to set up the Leap Motion controller so I can use it to control my desktop.

I.E., which version should I be installing – Orion, V2, something else? Do I need core Unity assets? And which would be the application to use just to control the desktop that currently works?

Apologies all if this seems too basic an issue but I have been tearing my hair out trying all of the combinations and permutations of installing and running this and that.

The best I seem to have managed to so far is to get Gamewave working but only within the app itself - It ceases to do anything once I minimise the window.

Any tips or pointers aimed at a complete amateur imbecile would be truly appreciated.

I was able to make it run in background.

Use Orion 2.3.1

Edit the config.json file in a %appdata%\Leap Motion and paste this inside:

Just in case, run Gamewave in administrator mode.
