Hi everyone,
We'd like to give you a quick update on our progress with Android support. Right now, we have a private alpha in development, and we're inviting developers to join who want to help drive the platform forward.
While the current state of the alpha points to where we're headed as a mobile interface, we're still working out many important details. As we work to support more platforms and roll that out to the broader community in 2015, we're excited to see that VR headsets for Android are already opening up new possibilities for simple, inexpensive, and accessible VR experiences.
This week, DIYVR launched a Kickstarter campaign for a GLAM-supportive adaptable toolkit for VR. They've just met their first funding goal after only a few days, and we can't wait to see what you can build with the tools that DIYVR puts into your hands. In fact, their Developer Cardboard One includes a Leap Motion mount! Please note that while it will work out-of-the-box with GLAM, we're looking to release Leap Motion + Android beta support in 2015.
For these reasons and more, we're now making the alpha Android SDK available to developers who provide a short proposal on how they plan to use it. However, since it's still bleeding-edge software, the alpha will remain private – so that we can stay in touch and work rapidly towards a public release. At this stage, your feedback is absolutely crucial to the future of Android support.

These are still early days for the technology and we have a lot of work ahead of us. We appreciate your support as we advance Leap Motion interaction to new platforms.
Thanks,
