Activation failed on most apps

Do you happen to be accessing the app store through an office or school network?

I am having the same problem (just the text is different). Just got my controller and on most apps I have downloaded I get an error message that says
To run this app for the first time, you need to be connected to the Internet. Please check your connection and try again.
Authentication failed.

I tried with my mobile internet connection and no luck.
I am using MacOS.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. That was the problem.
You have to change the error message. It is confusing. It is not actually a connection error.

The reason that the error message states that it's an authentication service is due to the way DRM for apps is set up. The DRM provider creates a file in your home folder when it successfully authenticates. The software assumes your home folder and user name match. When it doesn't match, the file isn't written successfully and the software assumes that the authentication has failed.

Another problem. Just bought the game "Joca - The Handglider" and when i try to open it i get this message:
Activation Failed
To run this app for the first time, you need to be connected to the Internet. Please check your connection and try again.

The other applications are working fine after i changed the names.

The DRM system should be the same for all apps so I'm not sure why this occurred again. Did you change the home/account name again after activating the previous app?

I have not touched anything. And the other applications are working. Only this one that i bought give me that message.
Please note that is different: It says "Activation Failed" not "Authentication failed"

Try logging out of your account in App Home and log back in to see if that helps

Logining out and than back.
Restarting MacOS
Re installing the application

And no luck.

Is that app the only one giving you that error? Try downloading a few other free apps to see if you get the same message

Just downloaded 2 free applications and they work fine.

I bought another game it also working. The problem seems to be only with the "Joca - The Handglider"

I just installed Joca on my machine here and it doesn't appear to be running. I'm not receiving any error messages though so it may be a different issue. Could you post a screenshot of the error you're running into and I'll follow up with our team to investigate?

Just heard back from our partner and they said they may have resolved the issue. Could you try uninstalling Joca by dragging it to the trash icon in App Home and reinstall by clicking on the app tile in the Trash to see if that fixes the error for you?

Nope! The problem is not resolved.
