Accessing Leap Motion from Web Browser in 2021 onwards

I have been using Orion Beta for Javascript browser based access to the leap motion. When I recently installed the newer leap software (v4), I found that Web Apps no longer seem to be supported.

Will Web Apps be supported in the future (v5) or are they being dropped completely? Or is there an alternative way to access the leap from a browser that is recommended - preferably using (vanilla) Javascript? I'm concerned that v3.2.1 is now hard to find and download and is likely to be/become unsupported.

Hi @ssstratton, LeapJS still works in V4!

Please can you send me some info on the issues that you are seeing and what you are trying to do to support@ultraleap.com and I will be happy to help you further with this?

Leap Motion is not selling itself off, in fact Leap Motion became Ultraleap in 2019, joining forces with Ultrahaptics. You can find the annoucement here. Stay tuned as we have some pretty exciting things coming soon!

Please note that I now have v4 working with Browser.

However, the newer version, version 5, does not work with the browser:

Hi @ssstratton, we will bring back support for web apps however we are currently investigating the best form for this to take. This may take the form of WebXR or something else. We do not currently have any timescales available for this but I recommend staying tuned to our social channels where we will share updates as they become available.

If you require LeapJS in the meantime, then I recommend staying with our previous release Orion 4.1.

It would be very useful for our internal teams to know what you use websockets and LeapJS for, do you have any example of your projects or use cases that you can share about this?
