Hey everyone,
As the 3D Jam comes down to the wire, here's how the first round of judging will take place!
The 3D Jam Jury will consist of IndieCade gamemakers and Leap Motion employees – all with access to the device and experience working in 3D and with innovative technologies. Each 3D Jam submission will be played by multiple jurors, who will assess the game based on its execution and innovation in 8 categories:
- Aesthetic Design
- World Design
- Platform Design
- Interface Design
- Systems Design
- Game Design
- Compelling
- Innovation
It’s important to know that the 3D Jam is open to all kinds of submissions, including experimental games and alternative experiences. As a result, submissions that don’t feature an aesthetic design, world design, systems design (e.g. AI and procedural characteristics), or game design will not be penalized. Instead, they will be judged on the other categories.
The public will also have the opportunity to play and review each 3D Jam submission on itch.io/jam/leapmotion3djam. Your ratings will be counted roughly equally with the internal judges, but will be weighted based on the number of reviews submitted on itch.io and the quality of those reviews.
Submissions that perform very well after all scoring has been considered will be examined by an internal committee from IndieCade and Leap Motion, and considered as possible finalists.
