3D Jam: Approved Hardware List

Hey everyone,

To ensure that everyone’s 3D Jam submissions can be judged, we’ve created a list of hardware that we can confirm our judges will have on hand. It’s important to note that while some Android devices are approved, the controller needs to be connected to a computer running the core software.

This list is based directly on requests from jammers, and we’re definitely open to expanding it. Don’t see your hardware here? Post in this thread or email us at developers@leapmotion.com! We’ll keep this post updated with the latest officially approved hardware.

Quick question about Raspberry PIs and Arduinos projects for the 3D Jam....Do we need to get all inputs and outputs approved too, or can sensors, LEDs, LCDs, motors, IR LEDs, IR Receivers assumed to be approved?

@Scub3d A Myo would be acceptable as an optional add-on, but the experience needs to be able to work without it.

@Wandmaker Ditto with the Mindwave headset.

@DuFF14 We'll have to pass on the 360 controller.

@corky2003 You'll need to give us a heads up on those as well. Our goal is to be as fair as possible, and this means (a) judging all hardware hacks ourselves and (b) making sure that people don't a lot of work into really complex projects, only to find out afterwards that we couldn't judge their project.

Can I Use my nexus 4 for my VR Headset?

Any hope of approving Lego EV3 Mindstorms kit:

Of course with Leap software being ran on computer and sending/receiving commands over Bluetooth or USB (No firmware hacks or android ports for EV3 and stuff like that obviously because of low hardware specs of the smart brick, although using leJOS or some alternative firmware to extend brick functionality would be also a plus).
Basically just to treat EV3 as a kit of sensors and servos and Technic bricks (included in the set) as scaffolding.

@chalei Sorry, we can't support the Nexus 4.

I had 2 more thing to add for approval....

a) 74HCT21 integrated circuit (quad input AND gate). Phillips is the manufacturer...http://www.digchip.com/datasheets/parts/datasheet/364/74HCT21N.php
b) normal, simple lego bricks. From the Lego Bricks and more Brick set. Nothing robotic or computerized in anyway.
