So being a Leap developer i wanted to make something really cool for this event. It was a 2 day event and i worked my bottom off these two days bringing this robot to life, it was one of the most challenging days of my life.
The robot basically has 2 wheels (CDs actually cuz i had to build stuff from scratch), a robotic arm mounted on it and a wireless camera. your palm normal would move the robot front back left right, a single finger if detected would move the wireless camera in the X and Y axis (2 servos here) and five fingers when seen would make the robotic arm clamp, move etc... (6 degree freedom robotic arm)...
First off i used an arduino mega (with Standard Frimata v2.3.2 on it) to control the robot. 2 huge (40kg torque) servos for the wheels, NodeJS to simultaneously communicate with the arduino, couple of nodejs packages and i was well off...
i got first position in the national round, in the international judging round the leapbot came in the top 5 "best use of hardware" part... Here is a link to the project's page
https://2014.spaceappschallenge.org/project/leapbot/
you can find the code there too...
the leap motion has a potential with no boundaries! its just amazing!
I hope you guys like my work...
would love to hear your views on this...
