Thanks for your answer. I am requesting the acess to the alpha SDK now.
Dear Joe Ward
Could you point few resources on getting started with Alpha SDK, as I am currently beggining to develop using Leap motion For Unity_Android.
Any help on the same would be appreciated
@anildas If you want access to our Android SDK (in alpha currently), please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request it.
Hi Cade, Is the Android SDK still in Beta? if that is the case what are the requirements to obtain the beta version.
You can apply for the alpha here: https://docs.google.com/a/ocuspec.com/forms/d/1R2sqQ_cdiMPC7u-RA5bP98hlvdJmNFdVb73M313J1Ss/viewform
@AlexColgan sir can i request for the alpha sdk please . i really need it badly for my thesis project . swear to god i really need to connect my android smart phone device to my leap motion sensor.
We recently announced an upcoming input solution for mobile VR/AR. This is not yet available for developers, but you can learn more and sign up for updates here: https://developer.leapmotion.com/android
In the meantime, if you're looking for a way to prototype VR on a mobile headset, you might want to try this tutorial on our blog: http://blog.leapmotion.com/vr-prototyping-less-100-leap-motion-vridge/
@AlexColgan so by using RiftCat can i upload my UnityGame.exe to RiftCat then i can run my game to my phone??
Generally yes. I can't guarantee that it will work in all cases though.
Hello，I am a college student in China,I also want to connect my Leap Motion with android system to do something with mobile phone.I wonder if you get the android SDK and connect them successfully?By the way, does anybody connect Leap Motion with moblie phone and Geogle's Cardboard?
Not currently, see my post above: https://community.leapmotion.com/t/how-should-i-do-to-connect-leapmotion-to-an-android-device/3270/9
Yes. You can use it. I am working on same setup.Run application on your laptop itself. Use Riftcat Software to mirror your laptop screen to your mobile as VR using Riftcat. For more about Riftcat go through https://riftcat.com/vridge1 .But to mirror your screen to your mobile there is limitation of Riftcat as it supports Oculus 0.6 to 0.8 . Hence you required to use older version of unity 5.3.3 along with older unity assets and older leap motion sdk. I am using leap motion sdk 3.1.2 Its working properly. For more information you can contact me.Thank you.
Hello I am also a college student from the Philippines. Is it possible to connect leap motion directly to the android device and run an application from there?
Please see Alex's post quoted above.
You can also try meetshah7296's suggestion as well but you will be missing some functionality.
how can i contact you sir . I'm having a problem using the riftcat and openvr in unity.
You can mail me on my email id : email@example.com.Sorry for late reply!
So, the leap motion for Android is something close to using the alpha sdk? And roughly, when will it be released for developers?
Is the alpha sdk still available? If yes, whom do I contact and get it?
We don't have a release date for the mobile platform at this time. Unfortunately, we no longer provide the Android alpha SDK.
Is there any other way I could connect leap motion to android? Need to use it for my thesis work. Please do let me know.
Unfortunately, there aren't too many options available. You could try using Riftcat (https://riftcat.com/vridge) but I'm not sure how well that would suit your needs.
