Haptic feedback recommendation?

Hi All

I'm conducting research in the areas of gesture input & haptic feedback and have decided to build a prototype using a LEAP motion controller + web app + Arduino processor + haptic deriver + haptic actuator

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of implementing haptics and could maybe make a recommendation for a a driver and actuator?

Am considering a fairchild FAH4830 and maybe a linear actuator connected to Arduino Uno but the driver strikes me as being really small (3mm sq).

presume I need a breadboard or maybe it's possible to connect directly? any issues with powering this via USB?

how exactly do you want to combine the leap and a haptic device? leap motion is supposed to be "in air" - without touching anything.

the application (controled via leap) will send alerts to the arduino processor and haptic HW and these will be manifested as alerts that the user will feel.

my research is to determine if the presence of alerts improves the user experience for gesture based HCI and in particular leap motion users.

I have created a representation of an operating system and whilst interacting the user receives alerts if they drift outside leaps "interaction zone".

I have a set list of tasks for users to complete - one group will have haptic feedback enabled, whilst the other group wont have any alerts. following this qualitative and quantitive data will be reviewed and conclusions reached.
