Original post:
Hi everyone,
We wanted to share an upcoming release of the Leap Motion Software, version 1.1.
As the Leap Motion platform is constantly evolving, we want to ensure you’re always able to see what’s coming next and help shape its development. This preview will give you a chance to try out the new software and provide feedback before the official release. Remember, this is a beta preview build and will not be as stable as the final 1.1 release.
Put simply: proceed with caution. This is not a final production build.
You can download the beta here: https://developer.leapmotion.com/downloads/installer-preview
(Note: on Windows, you’ll be prompted to install a new USB driver)
Some new features to keep an eye out for in Airspace Home:
- Improved getting started experience: a new quick tutorial of Airspace
Home and an improved Orientation app- To see it in action, under the “Help” menu, select “Launch Tutorial”
- When hovering on an app tile, an app's "tagline" is displayed, to
help the user understand what the app is about
- A user may now specify the location for Airspace app installs
- This option is available under the “Account” menu Prominent support button
- Parallax star field background
- New sign-in/sign-up look and feel
- Localized sign-in/sign-up experience
In addition, we have a couple important "under the hood" features landing:
- Crash reporting is now built-in as an easy mechanism to (optionally)
send information- It’s available in the Leap Motion Control Panel, under the
Troubleshooting tab → Report Software Issue
- New dedicated Windows USB driver for the Leap Motion Controller to resolve potential web cam conflicts
Looking forward to your feedback.
Onwards,
-Dan
